This is a three-story, 58,000 square foot moment-frame steel building with glass curtain wall and a panelized masonry veneer with a three-story, 106,000 square foot, post-tensioned and structural concrete underground parking structure that serves the whole facility. The lobby and hallways feature stone and other high-end finishes with an architectural concrete courtyard. The facility provides office and laboratory space, a data center as well as a new vivarium for cancer research through gene alteration therapy. The building also incorporates vibration performance criteria for the floor framing system. Because of the building’s connection to the previous two phases, it was important to ensure the safety of the clients and staff by having a comprehensive safety plan.
