The design concept of the Kivel Care Center, a two-story, 60,000 square foot, 120-bed skilled facility that offers all levels of care, was to provide a maximum quality of life for nursing home residents and to encourage independence to the greatest extent possible. This structural steel building with a flat roof is clad in stone and ceramic tile and contains patient living rooms, comfortable lounge areas, full kitchen and large congregate dining rooms, physical therapy and patient activity areas, medical service and exam rooms and administrative offices. Also constructed for this facility include areas for banking and grocery, a post office, library, theater and computer center.
