State of Utah Archives Building and Rio Grande Depot Remodel

This 35,795 s.f. new State of Utah Archives Building houses over 24,000 s.f. of permanent records storage with an Automated Records Storage System and 13,000 s.f. of various patron services like public reception, administrative areas and additional support space. Micrographing, records processing and conservation functions are housed in 11,000 s.f. of remodeled space within the existing Rio Grande Depot Building. This new facility is designed to be architecturally compatible with the historic Rio Grande Depot, and a subsurface connection between the two buildings to facilitate the movement of materials and staff.
